Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part II

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You typically put a bet (a dollar is the usual amount) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could reach $25,000. Though big jackpots like this are extremely alluring, they’re also incredibly hard to win. You might need to hit a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, think about this- you play twenty hands and make the side bet each time. That’s twenty dollars you could have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a bet with better odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the complete casino edge from two% with one zero wheel to a huge 5% in American. The one number bet has only a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much lower casino edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and anyway you play it, the casino advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. Yes, that was not a typo. Due to the large set of numbers you have to pick, it’s not recommended to bet on Keno very much. A few times for entertainment, perhaps. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will quickly discover yourself broke.
